The Light, Truth and Constables

At last – printed matter that’s worth reading from beginning to end. The Light – A Truthpaper (Feb 2021) proved to be an end-to-end refreshing and informative read. Amongst many excellent articles, the fundamental lack of honesty in science is examined and the widening chasm between two elements of society – the open-minded and the closed-minded.The Light will be of great interest to the former, and probably ‘fact-checked’ by the latter.

Peel’s Nine Principles of policing also make interesting reading in a modern context. They are included in’s recent pamphlet ‘The Office of Constable – the bedrock of modern day British policing

‘Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence ‘
